Wax Cappings Bucket Holder – Crush and Strain Lid

This device goes by many names but it makes it possible to stack two buckets on top of each other while removing wax cappings or crush and strain.  Many beekeepers cannot afford a nice large wax cappings table so they cut their wax cappings over a bucket.  They might use a 5 gallon paint strainer which will catch the wax and the honey will drain down to the bottom.  The problem with this is that the honey fills up quickly.  So if your top bucket has holes in it, the honey can drain into the bottom bucket.  This “Crush and Strain Lid” holds up the top bucket so the honey drains into the bottom bucket.

Set up – Take a normal bucket and place on the bottom.  Add the “Bucket Holder” to the bucket and it will not slide off.  The top bucket should have holes in the bottom and it will sit on the “Bucket Holder”.  It has grooves to keep the bucket from sliding off as well.  Then on the top bucket and a paint strainer to the bucket.  Then add a frame buddy (frame holder) and pulling wax cappings!

This bucket holder has been testing with 46 lbs of honey and worked just fine!  You should never have that much honey in your top bucket, but it is nice to know the tool can handle the weight.

At present there is no color choice.  We have them in white and yellow and a few in red.  You can request a particular color by sending a message when checking out.  We plan to add color choices at some point but we want to get these out there sooner than later.

This tool is printed in PLA plastic which is biodegradable but strong.  It has a low tolerance for heat and UV so it is INDOOR USE ONLY.  If there is enough request, we could make these in UV resistant PETG plastic but this is not typically an outside chore.
