Beetle Trap

Description

This is a reusable beetle trap that is placed between the frames.  Add either DE (diatomaceous earth) or your choice of oil to the trap and the bees will chase the beetles into the trap.  When the trap is full or the DE is used up, you can dump the contents and reuse the trap!  No more wasting money throwing out old traps.  These traps will work with 10 frame boxes, 8 frame, nucs, or even 7 and 10 frame Apimaye hives.  These traps are not intended to work with Layens frame if they are using a solid top bar.  We do have alternatives that work for Layens.

Each multi pack contains at least one propolis removal tool.  This is a simple tool that helps to pop the propolis out of the slots in the top of the trap.

We have had great luck using DE in the bottom of the trap and then adding a small piece of pollen patty to draw in the hive beetles!  Just keep in mind that the DE will need to be replaced after it is full or if it gets damp.

These traps are 3d printed using PETG so it is safe in the bee hive and can take some heat.  Most of the traps are in green because it is a bit easier to see over wood or black plastic frames.  If there is enough requests we can add additional colors.
