Finished up most of the hives and other bee related items for the the bee school coming up in Bryan/College Station on September 24, 2022. Made this cheese board (formerly called charcuterie board) for my friend Stan and told him I could burn most any image into the board. He found this cool skep that burned up nicely. I still need to burn another image into the other side for delivery at our bee meeting on Thursday.
I saw a video that Matthew Peech did on things that sell and he was making these stars and I really liked them. As it happens I had a western cedar board sitting around doing nothing. So used the laser to create a 12″ star template and cut the cedar boards up. Marked out the star and cut it on the bandsaw. Glued up the star and then cut the frame up using some scrap eastern cedar. This one is not stained but I will definitely stain some in the future.
I also would like to use the laser to cut or at least mark the star out directly on the cedar. For some reason I can up with about 5 different ideas with the same approach, sizes, and some color patterns so we will see how well these sell.
