Took a bit of time to make a birthday gift for my mother in law. Her mother passed away about 8 years ago and my wife asked me to make her a serving tray with an old recipe in her grandmother’s handwriting.
The wood came from an elm tree that we had to cut down from her grandmother’s back yard last year. Even with all the worm holes, cracks, and other imperfections my wife loved it. We gave it to her mother and she was brought to tears.
Of course, I had to make another one for my wife and she has it displayed in her kitchen as well!
