Caught Up!

I want to apologize for neglecting the site and then dumping all the updates at once today.  The bee school in Bryan/College Station  last month (Sept 2022) went very well and just now getting caught up on orders!

This past week I was playing with the laser to see how it worked on the stainless.  Tried it out on my old hive tools but it only works if there is already paint on it.  Also learning that the color and/or type of paint is very important.  I prefer my J hook lately and ordered a few of them to test out as well….got some ideas for my local club.

Been staring at this relatively nice 1×12 of cedar with an ugly knothole in it.  Normally I would fill it with epoxy using black dye or wood colored to hide it but all those popular epoxy tables inspired me to try something different.  I picked up a sample epoxy coloring pack and tried the blue in the epoxy and pretty happy with the result.  Epoxy filling is not for everyone but still going to try some different colors.  It is far better to use the wood than to just throw it out.
